Scouts Bispham Lavvu Camp 2024

2024 saw the Scouts camping season kick off with camping in the Bispham Scout Estate Lavvu’s last weekend.

Camp began on Friday night with the troop arriving and setting up the accommodation for the weekend. It was a bit different from other camps that they have been on with the troop sleeping in Lavvu’s for the weekend. The next task was to get the fire going as this would help to warm the Lavvu’s over night, the Scouts got to it by collecting wood and bringing it back to camp to be chopped down.

The Scouts settled into camp with some supper ready for the following days hike.

Saturday

Saturday began with a 6:30am start with the Scouts being woke up by the wildlife, natures alarm clock! After filling up on cooked breakfast and cereals the troop worked together to make lunch and kit up for the hike.

The hike was a muddy, circular route around Billinge with the troop working together over some very wet terrain.

After a challenging 5 hour hike, a well deserved chippy tea was on the cards for the troop.

Sunday

Sunday was all about breaking down camp, burning off what little energy the troop had left with a couple of games of man hunt and investing Poppy and Leader Rob into 3D.
